Creating a strong community organization requires strong computer support. With three locations serving the Joplin area, Juan “Cookie” Estrada has a lot on his plate at the Joplin Family YMCA. “Our members are our focus,” Cookie says assuredly. “We need to bring our younger members the services they want in order to foster life-long relationships with them.”
A Partner for Computer Support Means More Time for Mission
Estrada has opted to let OXEN Technology take IT off of his plate so he can focus on the YMCA mission. That mission is to provide programs that promote healthy spirit, mind and body for all. To help, OXEN Technology manages all of the Joplin YMCA desktops, servers, networks and cybersecurity. Estrada worked with OXEN to strengthen the YMCA’s wireless network, establish a computer lab for their members and move their infrastructure to the cloud.
Additionally, the partnership between the Joplin YMCA and OXEN Technology supports the community. “For 25 years I’ve had the privilege of working with Cookie Estrada and his staff. We’ve partnered on a number of community needs that the Y serves,” says Larry Hedin, VP of Sales for OXEN. “When the Joplin Tornado disaster hit our city hard, the Y was there, as always, to lend a hand. They provided free child care and other programs, and OXEN donated the IT equipment and service to handle the additional capacity. Our relationship has always been strong and trusted, and we work together to make it simple.”
